About Michael French
Michael French has more than 35 years of experience as an effective and communicative leader of for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare delivery systems as a CEO, COO and Hospital Administrator. He has achieved results through building trusting relationships with Boards, physicians, senior leadership and staff and actively engaging them in developing and executing strategic and operational plans. He has completed operational, quality and financial improvements in a variety of organizations ranging from a 100 bed acute care hospital to multi-facility integrated systems. For the past five years, Michael has been providing both domestic and international Hospital Interim CEO, turnaround and consulting services, specifically in California, the Middle East and Turkey. In addition to Interim CEO engagements, Michael has led operational turnarounds, performance improvement and due diligent projects.
Over his career, he has focused on operational and financial improvement, strategic planning, governance, facility and new program development, leadership development, total quality management and process improvement, physician relationships and physician practice management including MSO development. Michael has held senior leadership positions in the US with such well known organizations as Hospital Affiliates, Geisinger, Inova Health System, Charter Behavioral Health, Tenet Healthcare and Huron and internationally with American Hospital Dubai and Universal Hospitals Group, Istanbul. He also served as the Managing Director in Dubai for the Huron Consulting Group.
Highlights of Michael’s achievements include being recruited to serve as the CEO of Charter, previously the largest US private behavioral healthcare company, to lead this organization through its significant restructuring to include a sale and Chapter 11 proceedings. Also while serving with Huron in an Interim CEO role, he led a $10 million turnaround of a 119 bed rural hospital in California.
Michael is a frequent speaker at many national and international conferences discussing operational and strategic issues within international healthcare and health systems. Additionally, he is active in the healthcare community and is a member of ACHE.
Michael earned his MBA in Health Services Management from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California and his BA in Business Administration from Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana Michael resides in Atlanta and lives with his wife of 36 years. He enjoys cycling, traveling and reading.
